“Kojo no Tsuki," composed by Rentaro Taki,

is recognized as the first Western-style art song composed in Japan.

It is not only widely cherished but also holds significant historical importance.
Following the precedent set by my previous work, "MIYAGI,"

I have once again borrowed the iconic opening melody of “Kojo no Tsuki,"

deconstructing it like a collage and reweaving it into a new form.

In doing so, I aim to dissolve the boundaries

between past/present/future, and between classical/jazz/pop,

all while constantly striving for the freedom to live with an unbound soul.

滝廉太郎作曲の『荒城の月』は、

日本で生まれた西洋音楽の最初の歌曲として位置づけられ、

広く親しまれるとともに、

歴史的にも重要な意味を持つ楽曲である。

前作『MIYAGI』に続き、本作でも『荒城の月』の冒頭に響く名旋律を借り、

それをコラージュのように解体し、新たな形で紡ぎ上げた。

過去/現在/未来、クラシック/JAZZ/POPSなどといった

あらゆる境界を消滅させ、

魂だけは自由に生きたいと常に願いつつ。
